Two years ago today, I lost one of the very most important people in my life. Today, I treasure every single moment we’ve ever shared together painfully knowing that there will be no new memories. I’ve never cried so heavily in life since you left us. I think of you daily. But in a dream, you still had the courage to come down and tell me it would be alright and sparked the fire of breath back in me again. I miss you more than anyone will understand. It hurts me to paddle out into the ocean alone now. So on sands shadowed by low tides, I write your name and I love you, each time before paddling out. Hoping when the ocean pushes, she will pull my letter back to you along golden roads of sunsets you and I once cherished. After suns set and moons rise I walk alone back to shore. But turn around and take a last look at blue oceans to blow a kiss across seas in hopes her winds will carry it to lips I never kissed. I love and miss you, Cristal Borgan.
